April 18 from Wilmington, DE to Chester, PA

Breakfast & Departure from Limestone Presbyterian Church in Wilmington, DE: A few local volunteers are needed to help prepare breakfast for walkers at 7 am at Limestone and to help pack lunches for them for the day. By 8 am, walkers will be ready to leave Limestone and will be driven into Wilmington, where we will begin our walk to Chester, PA from Rodney Square in the heart of city. Community residents are invited to join us as we progress up Market Street to the Delaware-Pennsylvania border. (Distance 14.6 miles from Rodney Square [center of downtown Wilmington] to Chester, PA)

Overnight at Chester Friends Meeting House: Walkers will stop for lunch along the road, and arrive in Chester in the mid-afternoon, about 4 pm. Before ending the day at the Chester Friends Meeting House, the walk may stop to visit a local community garden and/or environmental justice site. Potluck dinner will take place at the Meeting House, 520 E. 24th St. (Directions) with a pot of chili, salad, and more! Maybe a film too?
